Church Update | 10.4.20

Dear Church family,

Easter is here! In amongst all of the challenges we face as individuals, families, and as a nation, what a fantastic moment to stop and reflect on the hope we have in Jesus.

In him we have a hope that is strong and steadfast and that is everlasting! It's a hope which we can share with the world around us and a message our culture needs to hear.

Easter at Gateway

Whilst this isn't the Easter weekend I'm sure we had hoped for I do hope you can join us from 10am online this Sunday.

I have also put together a short devotional on Psalm 22 for today which is available here.

Do look to connect with those in your group over the weekend and give others in the church a call - especially those who may be on their own.

Coming Up

Next weekend we have Phil Wilthew speaking to us on video. Phil is one of the senior leaders at Kings Arms Bedford and apostolically oversees Gateway for Catalyst. He is a fantastic speaker and a dear friend, I'm looking forward to hearing from him as he speaks to us.

Prayer Meeting: We hope that you are in a contact group and that you are having time to pray with others from the church. However, we felt it would be good to host a whole church prayer meeting on Zoom. This will take place on Tuesday 28th April at 7.45pm. More details on this will be available nearer the time.

Family Meeting: We were due to have a church family meeting back in March and we still want to do this together. Again, we are planning to use Zoom to do this on Tuesday 12th May at 7.45pm. We will record this evening to enable as many of us to view this as possible if you are unable to join in on Zoom.

Online resources:

With many churches and speakers now putting content online there is a wide variety of teaching out there. Do be careful with what you are watching and engaging in, make sure that you are being fed good spiritual food. With this in mind, we are looking to recommend resources to you over the next few weeks. Here are few...

  • Terry Virgo was meant to be with us at the end of March and he is going to come and visit us once we can begin meeting publicly again. However in the meantime, he has been producing some excellent short videos that are on YouTube. You can access those here.

  • Whilst the Catalyst Festival has now been postponed to next year, you can access past talks and the termly Catalyst magazine here.

  • Spring Harvest are going online this week and their many talks and resources will be available here.

Well I pray every blessing for you this Easter weekend, and look forward to being with you online this Sunday.
