Giving at Gateway

Why, what and how

Giving

Why Give?

At Gateway we teach the biblical principle of stewardship. Everything we have belongs to God and we are only looking after, or are stewards of, what He has graciously given us. It is with this in mind that we encourage those who call Gateway their home to give regularly and generously in proportion to their income. It takes resources to fulfil all that God has given us to do so let's ask God what we can do to play our part in giving to the work of Gateway.

It is our practice to receive an offering at every Sunday meeting. However, many give directly from their bank account by regular Standing Order. Tithing (giving 10% of our income) is a commitment that many of us at Gateway have decided to undertake.

As mentioned above, we ask all those who call Gateway their 'home' to prayerfully consider the amount that they give regularly - and to review that sum as their situation may change. Responsible, joyful giving is one of the marks of a follower of Jesus!

Give out of what you have

We recognise that your personal circumstances will affect how you are able to give. If you are in a difficult time financially, please don’t feel under any obligation – we believe you should only give out of what you have (2 Cor 8:3). Feel free to ask for prayer on a Sunday or in your group, or to talk to a leader if you are struggling financially or with debt.

There are four main ways to give at Gateway:
