Need to talk to someone?
Options a community project, established in the mid-1990s by South Kent Community Church, to support women and girls affected by unplanned pregnancy. From the beginning, the focus has been on providing a safe, calm, and confidential space where individuals can talk openly, explore their situation, and consider their options without pressure or judgement.
The Options team offers supportive listening to help people navigate what they are facing. While this is not a counselling service, trained practitioners provide time, understanding, and clear, factual information in a welcoming environment, enabling individuals to make their own informed decisions.
All volunteer practitioners complete specialist training and receive ongoing development and supervision. A full confidentiality policy is in place to ensure privacy and trust.
For those experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, Options offers impartial and non-directive support, giving space to explore all available options at your own pace. As the service does not directly refer clients for abortion, the information shared is intended solely to support informed and personal decision-making.
Options also provides sensitive, ongoing support for women following a termination, miscarriage, or stillbirth. Whatever your circumstances, the team is here to listen and offer support as you move forward.
It is entirely free and confidential and is available at The Riverside Centre in Ashford.
