Who's Who with Stuart

Updated: Mar 18, 2020

Favourite food: Slow cooked pulled barbecue pork and strawberry cheesecake ice cream!

Place of work: I work for Mission Aviation Fellowship in Ashford. I do some flying in Kenya and South Sudan but spend most of my time behind a computer supporting our operational teams in 15+ countries round the world.

Favourite hobbies: Running, cycling and walking. I am learning the viola (yes it’s painful!) I also enjoy cooking and getting my nose into a good book.

Favourite music: I like of lots of different music. Currently listening to Josh Garrels a lot but, my top 3 would be Pink Floyd, Marillion and David Grey. My favourite Christian band would be Crowder.

What makes you laugh? I have a dry sense of humour so my favourite comedy show is Blackadder (that dates me!)

How did you become a Christian? I became a Christian when I was 6 – I remember reading a book about a boy who had a really tough life. He gave his life to Jesus and it turned around.

What’s the most outlandish thing you have done? On my stag night I was made to dress up as a clown with a wig, big shoes – the whole works. Fortunately there is no photo evidence! I’ve done several parachute jumps and I guess moving to Kenya was pretty outside most people’s comfort zone!

Pet hates: It takes quite a lot to get me really annoyed but I think people who expect to have things handed to them on a plate is what annoys me the most!

Favourite film or book: Favourite book is “Fate is the Hunter” and favourite movie is probably “Heat”.

Favourite Christian book: I’ve been reading Richard Rohr, who is a Franciscan. I think it is good to read something that challenges the way you think about your faith. He certainly does that!
