Do I have to bring money for the offering?
No. While an opportunity is provided for a weekly offering, there is no expectation that guests or visitors should give. The regulars do so out of a sense of immense gratitude to God and a desire to support the work of Gateway.
Do I have to come dressed up to come to church?
No. Don’t especially dress up, come just as you are!
I'm scared of walking in.
What's the other side of the doors?
This is a common feeling for many who have not been to a church meeting for a long time. You'll be welcomed at the door. Before finding a seat, you will be offered a leaflet about current events. You might like to wander around to our Welcome Corner, prior to the start of the meeting, where there is an display stand giving more details about the church and the various groups that meet.
I'm afraid my kids would be noisy!
Many of us have been there – relax! Gateway is a kid-friendly zone, and we want it kept that way. It might be a good idea to pop a reading or colouring book in your bag, just in case. If they have a screaming fit, then simply take them out into the one of the other areas, to calm down. Nobody will be distracted – it happens! We also stream the main service into our Cafe area, so you can always listen from there!
