"BLAST" (Bible, Learning and Sharing Together)
At Gateway the children are important members of our church family. We value them, making a real effort to make them feel loved, special and included. The children’s ministry aims to help your children experience God for themselves, giving them a bible-based foundation for life. We want them to be able to bring their friends to church activities and to make friendships with other children in the church.
Our four objectives are:
To understand the big story. We make sure that the children are taught Bible basics. We want them to use their bibles to put their faith into action and learn more about God’s plan.
To experience God. We want to provide an encouraging environment in which children can experience God through worship and prayer and learn ways in which He speaks to us.
To tell others about Jesus. We want to create an atmosphere to which children want to bring their friends, so they too can learn about Jesus and build good relationships.
Parental involvement. Bringing up children is a joy and a huge challenge! We want to work with and support parents as they encourage their children’s spiritual growth.

Once a month we have STARBURST which is an opportunity for the 3's - 11's to be altogether for Worship, prayer & drama
We use Scripture union ‘Light’ material for our 3-11 year olds
Such topics covered are ‘Following Jesus’, ‘Jesus shows God’s love’ and ‘God’s plan for Joseph’.
While working through the ‘Light’ material we also pray, have craft activities, drama and games and of course lots of fun!
All our teachers and helpers are registered C.R.B. checked and we have a comprehensive child and vulnerable adults protection policy and procedures operational. We work closely with the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS) to ensure this is kept up to date.
